I just wanted to post a quick update to say that the November Newsletter will be delayed until this weekend. Usually, I try to get my monthly newsletter out at the first of the month, but I’m experimenting with a new format so things are taking longer than I thought.

I apologize for not posting as regularly as I usually do. The last week or so has been very busy with family coming into town, getting the October newsletter ready and other assorted activities that have taken me away from Brad’s Reader. But don’t worry, I should be back to posting daily this week, probably starting tomorrow.

As you can see, the newly re-designed Brad’s Reader has officially been launched! This represents a large step in moving away towards the template-like feel the old design had and adding some much needed professionalism to the blog. I hope you all like it.

Today is the last day of August, and as the month draws to a close I just wanted to thank everyone for making this month the best so far! I use a few programs to manage this site’s statistics, and all of them were through the roof – I’ve never had so many unique visitors in one month.

That being said, I hope the growth continues for the rest of 2007 and into the new year. Also, if you like what you read here, the best compliment you can give is to refer Brad’s Reader to all of your literature-junkie friends and/or family. Last week I mentioned that the "new" Brad’s Reader would be unveiled yesterday, and as you can probably see, it didn’t happen. I have been planning a complete makeover of this blog for a while now, and it’s almost complete. There are still a few bugs that I’m working out with my web designer and you should be able to see the new look within a week (hopefully it’ll be just a few days).

The new look on Brad’s Reader will make navigating the blog easier, give it a fresh appearance, better organization, and it’ll get rid of that stale "template" look it has right now. This is all being done because readership is skyrocketing – with August having the highest number of unique visits yet! Thank you for all your support!

Large thunderstorms have been pounding the mid-west, where I happen to live, and the power has been on and off all day long. I’ll be back to my regular posting schedule as soon as everything gets somewhat back to normal again. The wind alone caused trees all over my neighborhood to be uprooted, falling in the roads and on powerlines. Luckily there has been no major structural damage in my area, at least not that I know of.

When I do get back to my regular posting schedule, you can look forward to reading about the enormous popularity of poetry in the United Arab Emirates. And I have a post I’m working on about the soaring popularity of novels in China. It’s turning out to be international literary week here at Brad’s Reader.

I just wanted to post a quick message letting everyone know that in about a week you will see a brand new layout and design for Brad’s Reader. After hearing a lot of feedback that the current design is too "cookie cutter" (which it is), and after feeling unoriginal for using a pre-made template, I decided to take the plunge and give Brad’s Reader a new look!

Also, I have switched email newsletter services from Zookoda to Bravenet. The former proved too unreliable and didn’t serve my needs very well. For those of you who subscribed to the Zookoda newsletter, you will need to re-subscribe. I apologize for the inconvenience.
