Friday Link Love 5/8

May 08 2009

Highlights of this past week include: Going to see The Dead in concert in Chicago on 5/4, seeing Amazon release it’s new (and bigger) Kindle version, and of course, writing today’s Friday Link Love post! What’s on the menu for next week? I turn 30 and hate it.

Have a happy and safe weekend!

Friday Link Love 5/1

May 01 2009

The biggest news of the week, in my own little world at least, was Amazon’s purchase of Lexcycle – the makers of the popular Stanza ebook reading app. Considering all the blog coverage of the news out there, I decided to devote the bottom chunk of links to a sampling of posts I thought had an interesting take on the Lexcycle acquisition.

That said, it is Friday! And like I say every week, have a happy and safe weekend.

Friday Link Love 4/17

Apr 17 2009

I love spring! This morning I briefly indulged in one of those little pleasures that makes life worth living: Sitting outside, sipping my mocha latte and reading the current paperback I’m engrossed in. After a long and cold winter, sitting outside reading is like heaven!

If the weekend weather is warm and pleasant for the rest of you, then I imagine few will be spending their time inside reading blog posts. But just in case you’re unfortunate enough to have bad weather this weekend, then here’s some reading to get you through it.

As always, have a happy and safe weekend!

Friday Link Love 4/10 (better late than never)

Apr 10 2009

Sorry for being a little late with this week’s installment of Friday Link Love. But as they say, better late than never! Right?

Anyway, as we get further into spring, I’ve been getting the itch to go to one of the many parks in this area, bring a good book, and enjoy the outdoors. Right now the temperature is still a little too cool to be comfortable. Keep your fingers crossed!

The weekend is here (always good news), and I got some fresh links for your reading enjoyment. As always, have a happy and safe weekend!

Friday Link Love 04/02

Apr 03 2009

The other day (Wednesday), I had the perfect topic to write about for this brief introduction to Friday Link Love. Did I write the idea down so I wouldn’t forget? Nope! So I forgot the idea (an idea I thought was cool) and now you’re stuck reading this boring drivel.

Now that April is here, I’m starting to get scared that I’ll be turning 30 in a little over a month! Where does the time go? How did I get so old? Is it possible to reclaim any of my youth? As I grapple with these questions and the impending crisis that is my 30th birthday, you can enjoy this week’s installment of Friday Link Love.

Friday Link Love 3/27

Mar 27 2009

What an exciting week this has been! The biggest news, on a personal note, is that I became an uncle for the first time this week. My brother and his wife welcomed a beautiful new baby boy into the world. I can’t wait to see my nephew later on this summer!

That big news pretty much overshadowed everything else. The rest of the week has been the same old stuff; work, write, sleep, work, write… You get the idea.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this week’s installment of Friday Link Love. There’s a lot of good reading here, so try to click on all these links! And as always, have a happy and safe weekend!

Link Love Leftovers (it’s about time!)

Mar 24 2009

I decided it’s about time to post another installment of my Link Love Leftovers, as I can’t remember the last time I did this. For those of you who are new, Link Love Leftovers is all the links that didn’t make it into my regular Friday Link Love.

The links are still awesome and provide great reading, but for one reason or another, just don’t make it into the post on Fridays (usually because I already have a link from the same blog or too many links about one subject or another). I also bookmark a lot more stuff than I could ever post for Friday Link Love.

Since it has been a while, some of these links go way back, but I think you’ll enjoy them nevertheless. Happy reading!

Friday Link Love 03/20

Mar 20 2009

Today is not only Friday, but it’s also the first day of spring! Even though winter is officially over, however, I’m still going to assume the Chicago area could possibly get another snow storm or two before the weather really starts to warm up. Never underestimate Chicago weather!

That said, I am really enjoying the warmer temperatures. During my college days I’d sit outside between classes and read during this time of year. Ah, memories!

Anyway, at least it’s Friday and there’s two days of unbridled freedom ahead of us. As always, have a happy and safe weekend!

Friday Link Love 03/13

Mar 13 2009

It’s Friday the 13th! That means you should stay home, lock all the doors and wear garlic around your neck lest any evil vampires want to suck your blood and then rob you. And don’t forget to go to bed tonight with a crucifix clutched tightly in one hand and you lucky rabbit’s foot in the other.

All evil aside, at least it is Friday. Here is this week’s link love for your reading enjoyment. And as always, have a happy and safe weekend.
