Friday Link Love 01/31

Feb 01 2008

I was almost afraid that I wouldn’t get this link love post finished for today, because last night my normal 1/2 hour commute home from work swelled into 2 hours. Why? The Chicago area was hit with a nasty snowstorm and traffic slowed down to a crawl.

But, being the trooper I am, I managed to pound this out with my frozen fingers and the last ounce of energy. So here’s some more link love for your reading enjoyment. As always, the links deal with writing, literature and a lot of technology stuff this week. Enjoy!

Friday Link Love 01/25

Jan 25 2008

After missing last week (I have no good excuse, other than being a little more busy than usual), Friday Link Love is back! Throughout the week I scour the internet looking for interesting things for you to read, then post links to them on Fridays as a way to jumpstart your weekend reading. Most links are writing/literary related in some way, but not always (as appears to be the case this week).

Friday Link Love 01/11

Jan 11 2008

Another Friday is finally here! First, I must apologize for my shortage of posts this week. I’ve had other projects I’ve been working on that have taken me away from Brad’s Reader. Don’t worry, though, I’ll be back to my regular posting schedule this weekend.

Here’s some good reading that I came across this past week. Enjoy!

The Wand of the Enchanter
A great article from The New York Review of Books which highlights some interesting facts about the very prolific Joyce Carol Oates. In fact, after reading this article you will feel even more lazy and inadequate than ever before.

Friday Link Love

Dec 21 2007

I have decided I need some regular "features" here at Brad’s Reader. One of the simplest features is creating a list of links to other blogs (and even other general website articles) I have come across during the past week and post them here for you all to enjoy.

I’m going to try to keep these links writing/literature related, but a few off-topic links might find their way into my link lists every once in a while. This feature will hopefully be posted by Friday morning so you have something to read while you’re bored at work, counting down the minutes until 5pm rolls around.

Giving out some Link Love!

Sep 17 2007

I read a lot of blogs and websites on a daily basis to try and keep up with things going on in the vast world of publishing, writing and literature. That said, I thought it’s time for a little "Link Love" to show my appreciation for some of these sites. By no means is this a comprehensive list, and it’s in no particular order:

Print is Dead: Books in our Digital Age – This blog talks about the technological influences on publishing, and as the title suggests, print books might be on their way out to make room for new ways of consuming literature.

Copyblogger – While not a "literary" blog, it does give some excellent writing tips. If you’re a commercial copywriter, or just doing a little blogging on the side, this blog is highly recommended.

Joe Wilkert’s Publishing 2020 Blog -  A great blog  that discusses the future of publishing. I’ve actually  only started reading this blog recently, but I always look forward to new posts!

The Writing Life – An excellent blog about the world of writing and publishing!

Writing Fiction – A blog about writing novels and short fiction with some excellent tips and an overall good read.
