Special Holiday Edition: “Friday” Link Love 12/25/08

Dec 25 2008

Happy Holidays! I decided to post this week’s Link Love today instead of Friday so when all the presents are open, and all the eggnog is drunk, and all the petty family disputes the holidays always seems to bring out are over, you’ll have something to read while basking in the Christmas glow!

I tried to put together a diverse collection of links today. So sit back, relax, and have a safe and happy holiday!

Happy Birthday Friday Link Love

Dec 22 2008

About 1 year ago I started a new feature here at Brad’s Reader called Friday Link Love. I gathered all the various interesting blog posts and articles I read throughout the week and presented them to you each Friday for your reading enjoyment.

The response to Friday Link Love has been enormous on both sides of the aisle. Readers love it because it gives them interesting stuff to read (besides my own boring writing) during the weekend, stuff they might not otherwise read. And the bloggers I link to love it because it gives them a little more publicity and attention. Everyone wins!

New Year = New Features and Surprises

Friday Link Love 12/19

Dec 19 2008

Once again, Chicago finds itself in the grip of another large snowstorm. Luckily for me, I didn’t have to commute during the busy rush hour(s), so I wasn’t affected. Plus, most schools were closed today so traffic appeared to be sparser than usual.

It’s should be obvious that this is my last Link Love post until after the holidays! I can’t wait until they are over. I’m not planning on doing much, and should be sticking to a fairly regular posting schedule. So if you need a break from visiting relatives, pop on by this blog and see what’s cooking!

With that said, here’s another installment of Friday Link Love. I don’t have quite as many links as I normally do today. But don’t worry, today’s Link Love is kinda like me – small and eclectic.

Have a happy and safe weekend and enjoy your holiday!

Friday Link Love 12/12

Dec 12 2008

Are the holidays over yet? I don’t mean to be a Grinch, but the constant Christmas music they play at work is driving me insane. And don’t even get me started about people’s "holiday spirit" – which means they are rude, impatient and don’t want to wait for anything! Yeah, bring on 2009 already!

With that said, welcome to another installment of Friday Link Love! I surfed the internet high and low this past week to find you the best content out there. So sit back, relax, have a steaming cup of hot chocolate and enjoy. And as always, have a safe and happy weekend!

Friday Link Love 12/05

Dec 05 2008

This week was marked by mostly depressing news from the publishing industry. In fact, even as I got ready to put this link love post together, I read on Publishers Weekly that Penguin is placing a salary freeze on certain employees. Tough times!

The good news is I have a large quantity of links for you to enjoy! The internet was overflowing with good stuff this week, and I’m passing as much of it on to you as I can. In fact, I’ll probably have some "leftovers" for you next week! So if it’s cold where you are (like it is here in Chicago) and possibly snowing, then get comfortable and warm and enjoy the links!

As always, have a happy and safe weekend!

Friday Link Love 11/28

Nov 28 2008

I hope that those of you celebrating Thanksgiving got your fill of turkey and gravy! Now, before you let the tryptophan gently put you to sleep, here are some great links that are well worth your time to read. I was bookmarking links left and right this week, so you can be sure there will be plenty of leftovers for next week (link leftovers, not turkey).

For many of you it’s a long weekend. Some may spend it shopping and taking advantage of some great deals out there. Others might just stay home and relax. Either way, stay safe and enjoy the holidays!

Link Love Leftovers

Nov 25 2008

Each week I bookmark many more links for Friday Link Love than I actually end up posting. Usually, I’ll leave a link out if I already linked to that particular blog or I don’t think it’s a good "fit" for that week. But all the links I bookmark, regardless of when they get posted, will take you to some high quality content that I think you will find interesting.

With that said, here are some leftovers! And for those of you in the US, by this time next week, you’ll probably be enjoying leftovers of a different variety (hint: Turkey!).

Enjoy!

Friday Link Love 11/21

Nov 21 2008

It’s hard to believe that we are nearing the end of November. Thanksgiving (for those of us in the US) is right around the corner, and then we have one short month until the New Year! Time really flies, and seems to go faster with each passing year.

Luckily for all of us, however, it’s Friday! That means another installment of your favorite – Friday Link Love. I spent the better part of this past week scouring all the dark corners of the web to find the best content for your reading pleasure. And remember, if you don’t get your fill today, I just might surprise you with a Link Love Leftovers sometime next week!

Have a happy and safe weekend!

Link Love Leftovers

Nov 17 2008

Didn’t get your fill of quality links from last Friday’s Link Love? Well, today I’m serving up some delicious links for your reading pleasure. These leftover links are in no way inferior to Friday’s links, they just didn’t make it into that post for various reasons (usually it’s because I already have a link to that particular site). Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Enjoy!
