New ASUS Tablet Converts Into A Notebook (video)
Yes, we all know the iPad is still the king of all tablet computers. And like I said in this earlier post about Russian eReaders, it’s easy to forget there are other tablets out there.
I’ve become interested in what other tablets are on the market. Don’t worry, I’m not giving up my iPad anytime soon (I’m saving my pennies for the iPad 3). But it’s fun to see how the technology has evolved over the last few years. While the iPad is king, it’s being surrounded by more and more tablets.
The ASUS Eee Pad Transformer TF101 caught my eye. It’s not only a tablet, but attaches to a keyboard dock to turn it into a laptop. Even better, the keyboard also has a battery, which will charge the tablet too. Pretty nifty, huh? The following video shows a quick demo of the Transformer. I’ll admit, it’s quite impressive.
Here’s a look at what’s under the hood:
- NVIDIA® Tegra™ 2 1.0GHz dual-core CPU for excellent multitasking & HD video playback
- Android 3.2 Honeycomb O.S.(4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgradable) with Adobe® Flash® 10.2 support
- Full QWERTY keyboard, touchpad input with Polaris® Office® for mobile productivity
- 16*1 hours long battery life for all day computing with mobile docking
- Brilliant IPS panel with ultra-wide 178⁰ viewing angle made from scratch resistant and super tough glass
- One year of Unlimited ASUS WebStorage, two USB ports, SD and Micro SD card readers for easy sharing & storage expandability.
- 3D stereo with max bass response with SRS premium sound
