JK Rowling Teasing Us Again; Still No Harry Potter Ebooks In Sight

Jun 16 2011

If there’s one thing JK Rowling is good at, it’s keeping her fans guessing about what she’s going to do next. With the new Harry Potter movie opening on July 15, the internet is gushing with new rumors.

The newest clue to more Harry Potter is the mysterious website Pottermore.com. According to Digital Spy, this could mean more Harry Potter for his legions of worldwide fans:

JK Rowling has unveiled a mysterious new website titled Pottermore, sparking speculation that more Harry Potter is on the way.

The Potter author launched Pottermore.com – currently featuring just a logo, the message “Coming soon” and Rowling’s signature – on Wednesday, following a frenzied “Secret Street View” challenge.

With the movie release less than a month away, the timing for a new Harry Potter product is almost perfect.

Harry Potter Ebook Speculation Continues

Maybe one of the biggest subjects of speculation is if/when the Harry Potter series will be released in ebook format. My post, JK Rowling, Harry Potter, Ebooks, and the definition of irony, shows that it’s in Rowling’s best interest to release the series in ebook format. And her fans really, really want it – just read all the comments.

Back in April, fans were teased with the prospect of an ebook version of Harry Potter. So far, nothing has come of it. Aside from her fans, Rowling loses out on the financial rewards of ebooks – estimated to be at £100 million just in ebook sales alone.

Whatever Rowling has in store for fans in the future, those fans are sure to eat it up. JK Rowling really does have the “golden touch.” I hope, however, Rowling is listening to her fans, the ones that made her successful, and gives them what they want (think: ebooks).
