Nook Color Updated With Apps, Email & More

Apr 26 2011

The popular Barnes & Noble Nook Color received a major update the other day, adding even more tablet functionality to the eReader.

The update brings cool apps such as Angry Birds (my favorite iPad game), Pandora, Notes and email. Not too shabby, if you ask me. Here’s a full list of updates via the B&N website:

  • Popular Apps (such as the ones I mentioned above, and more!)
  • Full Featured Email
  • Enhanced Web Experience with Video in Adobe Flash Player
  • Nook Friends is the new B&N reading social network
  • Nook Kids offers an enhanced reading experience that lets kids interact with the stories
  • Upgrades that include faster page turns, multimedia and more!

For only $249, you’re getting a big bang for your buck with the Nook Color. I should add that I briefly played around with the Nook Color when it was first introduced, but I haven’t had a chance to take these new features for a spin around the block.

With all these new features, I can’t help but wonder how well B&N employees can keep up with all the new features. I already wrote about this in a previous post. And like I said, I have faith in the B&N booksellers, I just don’t want to see them get stretched too thin.
