Good News For Ebook Sales
Ebook sales continue to increase, despite a shaky economy and Borders Booksellers declaring bankruptcy earlier in the year. No doubt the increased sales are helped by the recent flood of tablet computers.
An article from Reuters says that ebook sales for January are up 115% compared to January 2010. This is according to the Association of American Publishers.
In part, the article says:
According to the report released by the trade association, e-book net sales increased to $69.9 million compared to $32.4 million in January, 2010, continuing the rapidly rising demand for electronic books while sales of hardcover and paperback books continued to fall.
Not too shabby. I’m predicting that ebook sales will continue to increase steadily over the next year and we’ll see an even larger spike in January 2012.
If you’re looking to start selling your own ebooks, now is probably a good time. The market is ripe for strong growth.
