My blogging goals for 2009

Jan 03 2009

Now that the holidays are over and we are a few days into the new year, it’s time to sit down and get to work! For me, that means laying out a few goals for this blog for 2009. I decided to share them with you so that you will know what to expect from Brad’s Reader this year, and also to keep me more accountable for working hard to follow through with these goals.

Here are my goals for Brad’s Reader in no particular order:

1. Major blog overhaul. This includes a re-design of the blog and also a possible switch to a new platform, one that’s more flexible.

2. More varied content. I want to mix up the content a little by adding more book reviews, interviews and maybe even a few guest posts.

3. Return of the email newsletter. This is already in the works. I’m planning out the Brad’s Reader newsletter to feature more exclusive content and maybe a few other surprises (i.e. giveaways!).

4. More reader interaction. This includes fostering more comments and giving this blog a much more community feel.

5. Consistent posting frequency. I want to bring back my editorial calendar so that the posts, as a whole, are a little more organized

There you have it, those are the changes I want to implement this year. Maybe I’ll revisit this post again next year and see how much progress I have made.

I hope you stick around for 2009 and watch Brad’s Reader grow even bigger and better!
