I think I enjoy both for different reasons. As you mentioned I enjoy that sort of just printed "mint" book smell (I swear they could make a killing off of if it were a fragrance), however I'm a college student so I've grown accustomed to the moldy "oldie" appeal of library books. I like how books in the library are sort of apart of the community. I love bookstores, because it's like an experience. You could listen to a bit of music, sip hot coffee, and read. It can be quite a comfortable atmosphere. I haven't bought any books of late. I have received two as a gift. The last book I bought was last summer ( into the wild).
