Friday Link Love 12/05
This week was marked by mostly depressing news from the publishing industry. In fact, even as I got ready to put this link love post together, I read on Publishers Weekly that Penguin is placing a salary freeze on certain employees. Tough times!
The good news is I have a large quantity of links for you to enjoy! The internet was overflowing with good stuff this week, and I’m passing as much of it on to you as I can. In fact, I’ll probably have some "leftovers" for you next week! So if it’s cold where you are (like it is here in Chicago) and possibly snowing, then get comfortable and warm and enjoy the links!
As always, have a happy and safe weekend!

That’s interesting about the Amazon upgrade. I live in Panama so it takes a while for me to receive books I order from Amazon. Thank you for the link
Interesting links.
I mean it’s malleable and unrestrained. I think we can do well without being a bunch of grumpy old “Strunks.” The last thing writer’s need are more literary gatekeepers. Instead of only wanting to enforce precision our word choices we should also remember there intention.
I’m guessing you have a fascination with science. The funniest one I read was the link about “chemical romance.” Not trying to make a fuss, but hey what if the average layman has adopted and in many ways misused the term? This is the English language were talking about here!
Like the term chemical romance. It ensnares you because it’s intense. It sizzles. It’s stronger than will or reason…it’s chemical. See the appeal now? I guess I’m one of those modern readers/ writers who finds joy in interestng word combinations. There’s no need for elitism. I say that last statement in general not in any way to discredit the author of the blog post. In fact, I found it amusing. I was just offering my two cents.
