Free Books!
Ah, the title of this post is music to my ears! Given the bad shape the economy is in, and how most publishers are feeling the pinch as much as anyone (see Publishers continue to struggle in down economy), this is the kind of post that makes my day.
Keeping with the spirit of the holidays, Bleak House Books is giving away free books from its publishing catalog, and is also including books from their sister company Intrigue Press. Here’s a blurb from their blog:
It’s our way of saying thanks for all of the support we’ve received over the last few years. So go ahead and grab a book for yourself or as a holiday gift for somebody else. You just pay the shipping and handling, we’ll throw the book in for free.
That’s right, just pay for the shipping and the book is free. Pretty good deal, if you ask me! Go to their blog posting and read the directions on how to claim your free book/s.
Bleak House Books is also making a strategic marketing move here. Aside from just giving away free books, they are going to inevitably attract new readers who will probably end up buying future titles. Once again the Power of Free makes an appearance in a very attention-grabbing way.
Be honest, how many of you are reading this post because the word "free" appears in the title? It’s okay, I promise not to tell anyone!

Yep. Ya got me.
Thank you for this blog. I just googled it today and it’s very informative.
Luckily, this offer is online only. I don’t want to imagine what a bunch of voracious book readers would do at a free book promotion, especially in light of recent news.
Hi Erika!
Thank you for your comment!
You are right about it being good the free book offer is online only. An offer for free books would surely cause a stampede in any bookstore.
Thanks again for your comment and I hope you visit again soon!
