Changes coming soon to Brad’s Reader!
Brad’s Reader is growing! This is a good thing, but it also presents some challenges. A year ago I started this blog using the Blogger platform, which worked good for a while and got the blog off the ground. Then, I took a long break from blogging and started up again in December 2006 and haven’t stopped since (which is why I consider December to be the "official" Brad’s Reader birthday).
In a relatively short period of time, Brad’s Reader has grown more than I ever imagined. The challenge with such growth is to keep up with it and maintain a smooth experience for all you loyal readers out there. This means everything from a clean, uncluttered design to a consistent newsletter that you look forward to reading each month.
With that in mind, I’m going to be implementing some changes over the course of the next few weeks, all of them positive.
New Newsletter Service
You might or might not have noticed that I switched the newsletter subscription service I use for the Brad’s Reader monthly newsletter. I dropped Zookoda because they proved to be unreliable, as the August newsletter never got delivered. There were also other limitations within the Zookoda system that made it a bad fit for Brad’s Reader. Thus, I switched to Bravenet. Hopefully they will prove to be more reliable.
The subscription process is still just the same. Just enter your name and email address into the box on the right, click the "subscribe" button, and the push "Go"! That’s it. Follow the proceeding directions and you will start receiving the Brad’s Reader newsletter, fresh to your inbox every month. The newsletter is alway 100% free and we will never sell you out to third parties – we hate spam too!
A new look for Brad’s Reader
From the initial phases of Brad’s Reader, using Blogger, up until now, I have used generic templates for my blog design. While there’s nothing inherently wrong with this, at least starting out, there comes a point when a blogger needs something original and fresh to separate himself from the herd. I have reached that point.
With that said, Brad’s Reader will be getting a complete makeover! The new design is original, organized and will make your experience here a little more enjoyable. I can’t say exactly when the new design will be implemented, since the "bugs" are still being worked out. But you’ll be seeing it very soon.
"Writers Wanted" ads need for newsletter
Are you a publisher or have a need for writers? If so, then I want to hear from you. If you have a need for writers, and pay for their work, then let me know and I’ll publish your needs in the Brad’s Reader newsletter! Did I also mention it’s 100% free? That’s right, there’s no cost or obligation to you. The only requirement is you submit writing jobs that pay.

Those are only the major changes I’ll be making. I have other plans, but they’re still in the "planning stages" and kept under tight lock and key. So you’ll just have to visit often to find out what they might be (hey, that rhymes!).
